Vitalii Bezhin

Born in 1990 in Yevpatoriia, Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Education

Graduated from the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, where he obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Economics.

He also graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, obtaining a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Administration.

Professional experience

2010–2019 – Engaged in entrepreneurial activity.

August 2019 – July 2026 – Member of Parliament of Ukraine (9th convocation); Chair of the Subcommittee on Administrative-Territorial Structure and Local Self-Government of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organisation of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.

2019–2020 – Led the parliamentary work on legislative support for the decentralisation reform, which the European Parliament recognised in 2021 as one of Ukraine’s most successful reforms.

Since March 2024 – Chair of the Good Governance Commission under the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

February 2024 – May 2025 – Chair of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on assessing the effectiveness of the functioning of Kyiv’s public authorities as the capital of Ukraine during martial law.

March 2026 – Elected Deputy Chair of the Servant of the People political party.

16 July 2026 – Appointed Minister for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine.
