Born in 1978 in Lutsk.
Education
Graduated from Lutsk State Technical University, earning a degree in Engineering in 2001 and a degree in Business Economics in 2005. In 2025, he graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas with a degree in Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology.
Professional experience
1998–2012 – Worked for the Continuum Group (Lutsk), progressing from engineer to director.
2013–2018 – Chief Executive Officer of the WOG filling station network, where he introduced new business processes, built a strong management team and streamlined operations, significantly improving the network’s efficiency.
2019 – Founded IDEALIST Coffee Co.
November 2022 – May 2025 – Director of PJSC Ukrnafta and JSC Ukrtatnafta
Led the company’s strategic transformation, delivering a net profit of UAH 40 billion, compared with cumulative losses of UAH 10 billion over the previous ten years.
Built a new executive management team that introduced modern corporate governance practices. Secured a record increase in the company’s resource base, launched large-scale investment in modernisation, arranged credit facilities exceeding UAH 10 billion from Ukrainian banks, and secured EUR 80 million in financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the construction of distributed gas generation facilities.
May 2025 – July 2026 – Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz Group
Ensured the uninterrupted performance of the Group’s critical functions under unprecedented wartime pressure. During 2025, Naftogaz Group facilities came under 229 attacks – more than during the previous three years combined.
Naftogaz Group filled Ukraine’s gas storage facilities with 13.2 billion cubic metres of gas ahead of the 2025–2026 heating season, meeting the country’s requirements. Despite losing almost 50% of its own gas production due to infrastructure damage, the Group maintained uninterrupted supplies of gas and heating throughout the most challenging heating season since the start of the war.
Oversaw agreements securing EUR 850 million in financing from the EBRD and the European Investment Bank (EIB), together with UAH 27 billion in financing from Ukrainian banks to purchase imported gas and build strategic reserves. The EUR 500 million EBRD agreement was the Bank’s largest project in Ukraine at the time it was signed.
Completed the restructuring of two Naftogaz eurobond issues with a combined value of approximately EUR 1.2 billion and expanded the diversification of natural gas supply routes to Ukraine.
At the beginning of 2026, Naftogaz Group launched its new digital service, the KUB mobile application.
Led the development of distributed gas generation projects, securing an additional EUR 80 million in EBRD financing to build facilities with a combined capacity of 62 MW.
Organised the international enforcement campaign to recover more than USD 1.4 billion from Gazprom for failing to fulfil its gas transit contract, coordinating judicial and enforcement proceedings across several jurisdictions.
Led a comprehensive review of the Group’s financial model, identifying the key drivers of liquidity, profitability and financing requirements.
On 16 July 2026, he was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine.
