Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine

Vadym Prystaiko was born on 20 February 1970 in the city of Kiliya, Odesa region, Ukraine.

1994 – graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. 1998 – graduated from Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade, Master’s Degree.

1993 – 1994 - IT company “Electronni Visti”, co-founder.

1994 – 1997 - Economist, Head of Division, Deputy Head of the Department of Trade and Economic Relations (Africa, Asia and Pacific Region), Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Ukraine.  

1997 – 2000 - Deputy Head of Division (Asia and Pacific Region), Fifth Territorial Directorate General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

2000 – 2001 - Consul, Consulate General of Ukraine in Sydney, Australia.

2001 – 2002 - Consultant of the Foreign Policy Directorate, Administration of the President of Ukraine.

2002 – 2006 - Political Counselor, Embassy of Ukraine to Canada, Chargé d’affaires of Ukraine to Canada (2003-2004, 2005-2006).

2007 – 2009 - Deputy Director, NATO Directorate General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

2009 – 2012 - Minister-Counselor and DCM, Embassy of Ukraine to the USA.

2012 – 2014 - Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Representative of Ukraine to the International Civil Aviation Organization (IKAO).

2014 – 2017 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief of Staff of the Ministry, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. 

09.2017 – 08.2019 - Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO.

05.2019 – 08.2019 - Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

29 August 2019 – appointed as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th Convocation.

March 4, 2020 - appointed Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th Convocation.

Diplomatic Rank – First Class Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Fluent in English.

Married with two sons.
