Bessarab Serhiy
Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine

Born in 1955 in Stary Kaidaky.

In 1977 graduated from the M. Frunze Higher Combined-Arms Command School of Kyiv. In 1990 graduated from the Frunze Military Academy (Moscow, USSR) and in 2002- the National Defence Academy of Ukraine.

In 1990 he continued to serve in the Transcaucasian, Northern, and Operational Command as deputy commanding officer.

2001-2002- listener of the National Defence Academy of Ukraine.

From 2002- Chief of Staff- first Deputy Commander of the Army Corps of the Northern Operational Command.

2002 - 2005 - Chief of Staff - First Deputy Corps Commander.

Since 2005 – Chief of the Territorial Command  “North”.

Since May 2007 - Commander of the 6th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Chief of the Dnipro garrison.

2012 - 2014 - First Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 2015 - Commander of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

March 4, 2020 – appointed Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
