Born in 1972 in Kyiv.

Studied at the Reshetylivka Art School of Folk Crafts and the Kyiv State Institute of Culture.

Started his professional career as a teacher and became the director of the National Centre “Minor Academy of Sciences” and co-founder of the first Museum of Science in Ukraine.

Worked as a teacher at the Kyiv-Mohyla College, a fencing coach, supported the activities of the public youth organisation Sich, and held a senior position at the General Directorate of JSC Ukrtelecom.

Since 2010, served as Director of the National Centre “Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

Honoured Worker of Education of Ukraine (2021).

Winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in Education (2012).

On March 21, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Oksen Lisovyi as Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
