    Zhdanov Ihor
    Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine

    Born on December 29, 1967 in the city of Vinnytsia.

    In 1985 he completed Vinnytsia secondary school No 12.

    From 1986 to 1988 - service in the army.

    1992 - graduated from the history faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 1994 -postgraduate courses at the law faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;

    1993 – served as freelancing consultant to the Parliamentary Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism.

    1996 – completed the courses of European Young Leaders under the Council of Europe’s program at Thames Valley University (UK).

    1994-1995 - worked in the legal department of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine and at the Assistants’ Group to the President of Ukraine under the supervision of Olexander Razumkov.

    1997-1999 – served as staff member at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC’s Deputy Assistant Secretary).

    In 1995-1997 and 1999-2005 - one of the initiators, founders and organizers of the Ukrainian Center for Economic and Policy Studies named after Olexander Razumkov, Director of Political and Legal Programs.

    2002 – served as freelancing consultant to the Parliamentary Committee for Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption.

    2004 – leading analyst at the election headquarters of presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko and co-author of ‘Ten Steps to the People’ programme.

    From 2005 to 2007 – Deputy Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of People's Union ‘Our Ukraine’ party, member of the party’s political council.

    2008 - President of the Open Politics analytical center (Kyiv) and Director General of the NGO "Open Politics Fund".

    From 2013 to 2014 - active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, Maidan commandant, a member of the MaidanCouncil, one of the founders of Maidan All-Ukrainian Union, he carried out information and analytical support for actions of the opposition parties at the National Resistance Headquarters.

    In 2014 he was elected into the Parliament of Ukraine as a member of the Fatherland party.

    On December 2, 2014 he was appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

    On 14 April 2016 he was re-appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine

    He is married with a son and a daughter.
