Ukraine has attracted more than € 560 million within the framework of the E5R Fund since 2011

The delegation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine took part in the eighth meeting of the Assembly of Contributors of the Eastern European Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) which was held in London.

The participants of the meeting discussed the results of the financial activities of the E5R, analysis of progress in legislative and regulatory tariff reforms, and monitored the state of implementation of the projects.

It should be noted that Ukraine is implementing 23 energy efficiency projects worth more than € 560 million, of which € 370 million- loans from international financial institutions executing E5R projects, € 107 million euros- E5R grants, as well as international technical assistance from other sources and co-financing Thus, Ukraine's contribution to the E5P fund in the amount of € 10 million allowed to attract more than € 560 million since 2011 for the implementation of energy efficient projects.

E5P contributors to Ukraine are 16 countries and international organizations: the European Union, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States. The total amount of contributions makes up € 112 million.

During the discussion, the parties touched upon plans for further extension of the E5R and the prospect of attracting additional contributions from donors (Phase II). The European Union has expressed its support for the continuation of the work of the E5P until 2029. The Swedish Government also made an additional contribution to the tune of € 2.9 million.

The representatives of the Ukrainian delegation got an opportunity to get acquainted with the results of the activities of the E5P in other countries, in particular Moldova, Georgia, Belarus and Armenia.
