Over the period of December 2022 - February 2023, Ukraine has received humanitarian aid from Japan in the form of 259 generators and components. The equipment has been distributed among Ukrainian energy sector companies that have been damaged as a result of russian armed attacks.
"russians continue to target Ukrainian energy facilities across the country. Thanks to the help of our international partners, we are carrying out restoration work, ensuring the operation of energy companies and continuing to hold our energy front," said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The assistance provided by the Japanese side was distributed among the coal, gas production, gas transportation, and electricity sectors, as well as district heating companies in different regions of Ukraine.
"We thank the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and The Nippon Foundation for their assistance. This is a contribution to the energy security of Ukraine and the stability of our energy sector," emphasized German Galushchenko.
