It is a question of reducing utility bills 1.5-2-fold. While a considerable share of the population will become involved in this process in 5-7 years when the benefits of energy efficiency reform are huge. The top official wrote in the article The End of an Era of Energy Wastage in the Focus magazine.

"Recently I met with representatives of condominiums, and 30% of them have already introduced thermal modernization measures of various levels, thereby enabling to save at least 40% of energy now already. And in some cases, bills were cut by 2-2.5-fold. And this is only due to ‘warm loans’ and municipal programs. According to the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA), through the thermal modernization measures and overhaul of buildings, annual energy consumption can be reduced by 10-25%. In general, in Ukraine, the potential for reducing energy consumption makes up 75%", said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The official believes that efficient use of resources in the residential sector can become one of the main factors of recovery for the Ukrainian economy after a protracted crisis. "If we use the same amount natural resources, we will have a chance to produce 1.5 times more electricity, cutting its consumption by 40% in the utilities sector. Such an approach will contribute not only to better performance of the Ukrainian economy but will also fundamentally improve the lives of ordinary citizens", summed up the official.
