  • Government expands the access of agro-enterprises to soft loans

    For the timely start of the sowing campaign and its successful implementation, the Government has activated additional tools for lending to farmers. In particular, the loan program "5-7-9%", under which any Ukrainian company can get a loan of up to UAH 60 million at 0%.

    Since the beginning of the war, 826 businesses have received loans from state-owned banks totaling UAH 1.1 bn. Of all loans granted under the 5-7-9% program, 42% fell on the agricultural sector. 12,000 farms have taken loans. The proceeds go to the purchase of fertilizers, fuel, sp.

    “During the war, commercial and state-owned banks must intensify their lending activities, as thousands of entrepreneurs need these funds to set up production. The Government and the National Bank are working with the banking sector. In particular, the 10 largest banks announced the set limits in the amount of UAH 40 bn. State banks have already given UAH 2.3 bn to farmers, ”added Yulia Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

    In general, starting from February 24, state-owned banks have increased their loan portfolios by a total of UAH 12.5 billion, which is equivalent to a 15% increase in 2021.
