Ukraine is grateful to Switzerland for its support in repelling russian armed aggression. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov at a meeting with Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Patricia Danzi.
"Switzerland has been a neutral state historically and has maintained neutrality in all wars. But this time it took an active position in support of Ukraine. The Swiss government has imposed sanctions on russia, sheltered thousands of Ukrainians and continues to support us financially. We are grateful to them for that," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Mykhailo Fedorov stressed that EGAP financial assistance before and during the war had helped to introduce a number of revolutionary and useful social services as well as significantly increase the number of users of the Diia. During the previous meeting with the SDC Director General Particia Danzi, there were 10 million users. Now their amount is 17.5 million.
"Even during the war, the Ministry of Digital Transformation continues to simplify the provision of services, launch new convenient services and adapt existing ones. Our digital base and your financial support helped us adapt quickly and be effective in the war. Now it is more important than ever to deliver targeted assistance fast. The EGAP helps our team a lot with the launch of convenient social services," said Mykhailo Fedorov.
The EGAP budget will be increased by CHF 1.5 million this year. Also during the meeting, Ms. Patricia Danzi noted that Switzerland stands ready to support digital reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
The EGAP program, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by the East Europe Foundation, helped create the Diia portal and application, the Diia.Digital Education portal, development of the Platform of the Digital Transformation of the regions of Ukraine the Diia. Digital Community, and financed the launch of a dozen services of the Ministry of Digital Transformation among which are the services for automatic business registration, the service eMaliatko, tax services, electronic registration of residence, local petitions, electronic medical reports and more.
