The Government House hosted a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with participation of Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights Halyna Tretyakova and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Yuliya Sokolovska.

"Ukraine needs a new social contract that will meet the realities and modern global approaches. That is why one of the Government's ten priorities for this year is the reform of the social sphere. Our goal is to build capacities instead of making people dependent on the state. Social services and payments should be as targeted as possible. For this purpose, we are creating a Unified Social Register and a Unified Information System. Support begins with a service and is complemented by a payment if necessary," the Prime Minister said.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that Ukraine should become a country with the best digital social solutions, where all services and payments are digitalised, subsidies can be received in one click and will be calculated automatically.

The Prime Minister said that the Government was continuing to work on the introduction of a mandatory funded pension: "We support those who really need it. We are building a human-centred social sphere in Ukraine".
