Government initiatives to root out smuggling and financial schemes while export-import of goods have allowed to increase the amount of daily payments received from the Customs of the State Fiscal Service up to UAH 1.5 billion. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced speaking with media people in the framework of his working trip to Odessa. Among the targets of the working visit were the work of the Ukrainian Customs and summing up of interim results of the "Ukraine without smuggling" campaign announced by the Government. One of the key measures implemented within the scope of the campaign is the active use of customs scans that automatically check containers and trucks and, thus, allow to value the cost of goods being transported.
The Head of Government stressed that the Government won’t lose the momentum and will prolong the policy of elimination of schemes at the border. Moreover, legal businesses have nothing to fear, assured the Head of Government. Whereas, the Gov’t shall be tough with everyone who tries to build schemes and plunder the country."
This idea laid not only the basis of entrepreneur - controller relations, but customs officer - law enforcement officer as well. Under the Cabinet of Ministers resolution, all law enforcement agencies have obtained access to databases and can analyze real-time the situation at the border and prevent abuses.
"Why do we have to remain blind to all the abuses that devastate our country? Our stance is as follows: all law enforcement agencies - prosecutors, NABU, SSU, please, keep track. And the customs officers – just do your job so that everyone is aware of what to expect when plundering the country", said Volodymyr Groysman. "Our decisions have rooted out the foundation for the schemes. Daily revenues grew to UAH 1.5 billion. These funds belong to the citizens and nobody has the right to take them away? Our mission is to fill the state treasury."
