On 20 November, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the World Bank’s Managing Director for Operations Anna Bjerde in Kyiv.
The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
“The Memorandum provides for the exchange of knowledge and best practices on economic growth, business support and the implementation of key reforms to promote European integration in key sectors,” the Prime Minister said.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the financing of joint projects for economic reconstruction and development this year and the next. Denys Shmyhal thanked for the implementation of the PEACE in Ukraine project, which allows the Government to fulfil its social obligations to citizens.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the Internal Resilience Plan presented by the President of Ukraine. The parties coordinated support for specific areas of this plan.
Denys Shmyhal thanked for the assistance in restoring the energy system, stressing that this was particularly important given the resumption of russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
“We are very grateful for the support provided and look forward to jointly implementing even more projects for the economic development of our country and its integration into the EU,” the Prime Minister stressed.
