  • Over 100 projects in the sector of healthcare and social protection will be financed from State Regional Development Fund in 2019

    The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine continues to implement critical projects in the regions within the framework of funding from the State Regional Development Fund (SRDF). Therefore, the Ministry approved the financing for 109 projects for the construction, reconstruction and major overhaul of health and social protection facilities amounting to almost UAH 1.3 billion. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Lev Partskhaladze.

    “More than 100 new projects in the field of medicine and social protection will be financed this year at the expense of the State Regional Development Fund - SRDF. Those include construction, reconstruction, overhaul and purchase of necessary equipment in hospitals, clinics, perinatal and recreation centers, outpatient clinics and other medical institutions, as well as repair and reconstruction of orphanages and other facilities”, he told.

    In total, funding from the SRDF has already been approved for the implementation of 707 regional development projects in all regions of Ukraine. These are the construction and reconstruction of schools and kindergartens (277 projects), health and social care institutions (109 projects), culture (38 projects), sports (131 projects), road transport infrastructure (47 projects), water supply and sanitation ( 50 projects) and other important regional projects.

    In addition, active construction of state-of-the-art rural outpatient departments is underway in the regions of Ukraine at the expense of the state budget subsidy for rural medicine to improve the quality and availability of medical services in rural areas. “Currently, almost 100 outpatient clinics have been built in different villages and towns throughout Ukraine. A total of 561 such facilities have now been approved for construction. And we plan to increase this figure in the future”, the Deputy Minister said.

    The implementation of this project envisages the construction of modern buildings of new medical clinics, the purchase of necessary equipment for doctors, as well as the creation of conditions for telemedicine services.
