  • Oleksandr Kubrakov talks to Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, had a conversation with Dariusz Klimczak, Minister of Infrastructure of Poland. The key topic of the conversation was the avoidance of renewed blocking of the border by Polish carriers.

“Ukraine, for its part, has implemented all the measures agreed upon earlier. We have launched pilot projects at two checkpoints and plan to proceed further, and a working group is working at the level of deputies to analyse the measures taken. We expect that the Polish side will also work out everything it has agreed with the protesters, and the blockade will not resume on 1 March.

In recent days, there have been virtually no online queues to leave Ukraine. This is also due to seasonality. Despite the decrease in cargo traffic, it is important to comply with the agreements on throughput capacity and use each checkpoint as efficiently as possible,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

The Deputy Prime Minister drew the attention of his Polish counterparts to the fact that Krakovets-Korczowa and Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne border crossings were not operating at full capacity. Indeed, if the checkpoints do not function properly, the waiting time in the queue will increase.

“Next week, our deputies and the relevant services will work directly at the border to work out concrete steps to establish a rhythmic connection not only with Poland but also with the European Union.

At the same time, the issue of blocking the border by Polish farmers remains acute, and our colleagues from the agriculture ministries of Ukraine and Poland are working on appropriate solutions,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

The official thanked his Polish counterparts for constant communication and attempts to resolve all issues comprehensively so that the border between the countries could operate smoothly.
