This was announced by Hennadii Zubko, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine.

«A cutting edge tool for the development of the Carpathian mountain territories with the use of GIS - SPATIAL PLANNING! And we already have it! It is not necessary to reinvent the wheel, it is critical to move on!

All basic data are taken into account here, plus all projects are added – those planned to be implemented by 2027 - entrepreneurship, transport, engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, ecology and many more.

And this is just one of the development tools, and there are others such as:

EU strategy for the Carpathian region;

EU Strategy for the Danube Region;

Carpathian Regional Development Network;

Concept of development of mountainous territories of the Ukrainian Carpathians for 2019-2027;

+ Bills on development of the Carpathians, which our team had developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.

The development of the Carpathian mountain territories today is a key topic during the President's trip to Ivano-Frankivsk region”, Hennadii Zubko wrote.

The GIS model will provide a comprehensive spatial approach and coordination of measures for managing the development of the territories of each of the mountainous regions, as well as individual sectoral development strategies.
