Today, December 16, the beta testing period of the Diia (Action) mobile application has started. On December 11, there was announced the selection of testers - within 5 days, every willing Ukrainian could apply to be the first to access two application services and to get access from a smartphone to a digital driver's license and vehicle registration certificate.
“58,000 Ukrainian citizens responded to our call. Anyone who meets the technical criteria for participating in the test will receive an invitation letter,” says Deputy Prime Minister, Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
In the process of considering applications and selection of participants, the main criterion was the compliance with all the requirements - both valid driver's license and the vehicle’s passport, as well as the ability to pass identification through BankID in the Privat24 or MonoBank applications. The NBU electronic identification system will be introduced in the application shortly, as a number of large Ukrainian banks, such as Sberbank and FUIB (First Ukrainian International Bank), are connected to the system.
“The selected participants began receiving individual emails with an access link. After installing the application and completing the identification, drivers will be able to access their digital documents - driver's license and technical passport. They will already be able to use them for everyday purposes,” adds Mykhailo Fedorov.
The verification of documents by police officers will be carried out using a QR code. They will use smartphones or special gadgets for these purposes. In cases when police refuse to recognize documents on a smartphone and require plastic ones, drivers should contact the police hotline: 0-800-50-02-02.
The testing period will last up to a month. During this time, the development team will analyze the feedback to correct any flaws in the application.
It should be reminded that the Ministry of Digital Transformation in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the largest Ukrainian PrivatBank and the international IT company EPAM are engaged in the development of the Diia app.
