Today, the mainstream reform which is being introduced in the country is decentralization. It strengthens our communities, promotes the development of rural areas and provides a new quality of life. And the initiative of the President of Ukraine on the development of rural medicine is key here. After all, medical service is essential and most important for each person. Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine emphasized during a visit to the newly built rural outpatient clinic in Zaborol village of the Rivne region.

"The development of a new educational space, new outpatient facilities in rural areas, bright children's playgrounds are essential elements that create the quality of life for Ukrainian youth, make them educated and protected. On the other hand, we have the elderly who also need attention and assistance from the state and, most importantly, available medical services. The construction of new outpatient facilities in rural areas, due to the initiative of the President, has really brought services closer to the people. Currently, 517 new outpatient clinics are being built in Ukraine. A total amount of rural primary healthcare network facilities, which we have formed according to the Methodology, includes 4223 outpatient clinics", said Hennadii Zubko.

Presently, Rivne region, taking into account the pace of building new rural outpatient clinics, is in the top three of the regional leaders. 34 new outpatient clinics are being built here. One has been put into operation in February 2019. Another 14 are scheduled to be put in operation in March and 19 - till June 2019.

Rivne region is among the pilot regions where telemedicine is being implemented. It’s the fact that in the village of Zaborol in the newly built outpatient clinics there has already begun testing the latest technology. From now on, residents of the small village do not have to go far away dozens of kilometers to the district or region for medical consultation. The doctor will be able to contact a specialized doctor from the regional hospital and provide high-quality medical care.

According to the Vice Prime Minister, after the launch of telemedicine, the medical service will improve its quality. "Family doctors in communities will be able to contact a specialized doctor - a cardiologist, a pulmonologist, a dermatologist, an endocrinologist from the regional hospital. In addition, the list of consultations will also include pediatrics. Such a mechanism will enable a more efficient provision of medical services", said Hennadii Zubko.
