In the past 24 hours, 588 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in Ukraine. This is a new anti-record, which is due to the fact that Ukrainians ignore the anti-epidemic recommendations of the Ministry of Health. If the situation worsens, the Ministry will recommend strengthening quarantine measures.
The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxym Stepanov stated that at a daily briefing.
“Today we have a record for the number of people who have recovered - 602, but on the other hand - an anti-record, as we have 588 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Once again, I would like to appeal to all Ukrainians: quarantine mitigation clearly regulates anti-epidemic measures. Those include the use of personal protective equipment, masks, respirators, antiseptics, social distancing, etc. All these measures are developed by leading experts of our country. If we disregard these recommendations, we can get an increase in the number of patients and, as a result, the Ministry of Health will recommend the introduction of additional measures," said Maxym Stepanov.
According to the Minister of Health, the Ministry is analyzing each case of coronavirus infection, as well as increasing the number of tests. In particular, a total of 14,301 tests were performed in the previous day. Of these - 10,563 with use of the PCR tests and 3,738 – the ELISA tests.
