In Ukraine, more than 75% of deaths from complications caused by coronavirus disease occur in people over aged over 60, announced Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov at a daily briefing.

"The most vulnerable category of people are people over 60. In total, during the pandemic such patients enumerate 77,156 people or 25.8%. Meanwhile, 75% of the total death poll as a result of coronavirus disease are people aged over 60. First of all, I appeal to the younger generation: take care of your parents, grandparents, so that they do not leave the house when unnecessary," said the Minister of Health.

According to him, the course of the disease is also complicated by the underlying health conditions in the patient: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, tumors, renal, liver, lung disorders and more. The Minister of Health once again called on citizens to follow the rules and recommendations of the Ministry of Health established in the country, thereby allowing to prevent infection and spread of coronavirus disease.

It should be noted that a total of 303,638 people fell ill during the pandemic in Ukraine. A total of 126,489 patients recovered, and 5,673 deaths were recorded.
