Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman presented a Report of the Cabinet of Ministers’ activities for the first six months of 2018. The presentation took place within the framework of the Government’s session. The Head of Government stressed that over the recent months the development indicators give a reason to talk about the achievement of economic stability. The issues at stake are the growth of industry, real wages, capital investments, lower inflation rates, formation of the principles of new corporate governance in state-owned enterprises and creation of favorable environment for attracting investment.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the latest ambitious decisions , first of all, in fiscal policy and the fight against smuggling.
"Yesterday, tenders for the purchase of scanners were conducted. The procurement volume made up UAH 1.2 billion at the initial stage. The savings amounted to UAH 600 million. We have outlined further actions against smuggling", Volodymyr Groysman emphasized.
Apart from that, the Head of the Government stressed that on average, customs clearance rose by 50%.
"In May when the shadow schemes were in force, customs clearance of, for example, toys made up 5.5 thousand dollars per container. When anti-smuggling actions have been introduced customs clearance of the same goods amounted to 8.8 thousand dollars. Customs clearance of shoes made up 8 thousand dollars per container, now - 14 thousand dollars will be transferred to the budget as revenues", the Prime Minister stressed.
Volodymyr Groysman placed a special emphasis on the fact that all attempts aimed at bringing back shadow schemes will be futile, just at putting the pressure on customs workers will bring nothing and he also added that every honest customs official will be protected.
