  • Ministry of Energy: The energy system continues its stable operation
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 25 February 2022 13:24

Today, at 9 a.m., another monitoring teleconference meeting on the state of the power system, energy enterprises and network infrastructure chaired by the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko took place.

Overnight, a significant reduction in electricity consumption was recorded - up to 12.8 GW. We appeal to consumers: there is no reason to further limit consumption other than using traditional means of responsible energy consumption.

The unified energy system of Ukraine works stably, isolated from the energy system of Russia and Belarus, as well as from the European energy system.

Testing of the power system for operation in isolated mode is successful and according to plan.

As of February 25, 11 units with a working capacity of 8,349 MW are operating in the nuclear generation mode.

The thermal power plants are fully operational, except for Luhansk TPP, with which the connection is absent.

Coal reserves are sufficient for stable operation of thermal power plants.

Kakhovka HPP works in a planned mode, there is a connection with the station.

The gas transport system operates stably. Gas exports increased to 9 million cubic meters per day, imports amounted to 11 million cubic meters per day, mostly from Hungary.

As a result of hostilities, the network infrastructure - substations and power lines - was damaged due to this interrupted power supply, including in Gostomel, Irpin, Bucha, Mostyshche.

In Chernihiv region 25 settlements are cut off, Kharkiv region - 42 settlements, Zhytomyr region - 14 settlements.

A substation near Toretsk was destroyed in Donetsk region.

In Kyiv, all power lines are operational, the network is working stably, there are no cutoffs.

Repairs to restore energy supply are carried out as soon as possible after the end of active hostilities near the damaged areas.
