Service of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, posted 05 November 2018 14:20

At today’s conference, representatives of consolidated communities (CCs), business and international funds unanimously supported the idea of 100% coverage of Ukraine’s territory by CCs until 2020. The idea of the transition to administrative decision on amalgamation of CCs from 2019 was also endorsed. However, it can be implemented only after  the adoption of the draft law “On the Principles of Administrative and Territorial Structure of Ukraine” by the Parliament. This was announced by Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine at the second annual conference of DOBRE partners "Strategic development and investments".

"Without this law, we can’t move further. Without this law, the country remains in the administrative system which does not allow to develop the infrastructure necessary for the decent life of every Ukrainian. And so I call on  every community’s  leader to work with your local deputies  and convince them of the need to support the vitally important law. The future of Ukraine and development of community lies with the adoption of this draft law. So far, 828 CCs were established, and we set ourselves the task together with you to complete amalgamation process by 2020", Hennadii Zubko claimed.

He stressed that this year’s  specific task is to create consolidated communities according to the  perspective plans’. "We envisage the establishment of  nearly 1400-1450 CCs. At the moment, there are 1206 of them. And we still do not see our perspective concerning  Crimea as well as temporarily occupied territories of  Donbas. But now we have already kicked off work on the development of perspective plans for these territories", the Vice Prime Minister stressed.
