Restoration of roads in Ukraine is a priority issue for the Government, because it encompasses security, economic opportunities and a new quality of life. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated during the Government meeting.

The Prime Minister stressed that roads in Ukraine have not been repaired for decades. Sometimes road damage level makes up about 90% and he added that the Government has been retrofitting the road industry since 2017.

He acknowledged that criticism of the quality of the roads is voiced every year - after the winter. "But I would ask to differentiate (claims). The ruined roads? Because they have not been repaired. But the roads we have restored are in a normal condition, "Volodymyr Groysman claimed.

According to him, the Government is guided  by one key principle to pay only for high-quality road works. "We have two categories of roads: the roads  repaired by the Government of Groysman and those that need to be repaired. We have ambitious tasks for 2019. By 2022, we will resume the road connection between the regional centers. In the context of road restoration, we have already done more than anyone during all years of independence. And we will do more," the Prime Minister claimed.

During the meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a series of decisions aimed to boost the road restoration policy in Ukraine and increase the responsibility of the authorities, primarily local and business, for using the roads.

The Head of Government also drew attention to the fact that the necessary road repair activities are already taking place. And as soon as the weather permits, all planned large-scale works will be kicked off.
