The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal summed up the visiting session of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 12 and stressed that the practice of regional visits with adopting government decisions on a particular region will be continued.

The Head of Government noted that the regional visit to Chernihiv region was busy and productive: the government team got acquainted with the work of several medical institutions and visited the Chernihiv Automotive Plant. The Cabinet of Ministers also adopted a number of decisions on the transfer of property to the communal property of the communities of the region.

"As a result of the decentralization reform, there is a systematic transfer of funds, powers, resources, property, land to local communities. They are becoming more independent and capable," stressed Denys Shmyhal, adding that within the Chernihiv region there are still some insufficient communities, whose problems will be addressed in cooperation with all branches of government.

The Prime Minister stressed that as part of the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a new emergency department in the regional hospital had been repaired and almost completely filled with equipment in Chernihiv region, which will soon be prepared to receive patients according to new standards of medical care.

During the press conference, Denys Shmyhal also told that the Government supported the initiative to vaccinate Ukrainian citizens who had signed up for vaccination with the help of the Diia application over the weekend. The Head of Government noted that after the Ministry of Health would have worked out the issue, everyone would be able to get the vaccine in the vaccination rooms in a live queue on weekends - on weekdays the vaccination campaign will be continued according to the national plan.

"On Saturday and Sunday, there are uncommitted capacities in vaccination rooms. We see a graph that there is a high level of vaccination on weekdays, but on Saturday and Sunday there is a decline in the number of vaccinated, so we can open such vaccinations for everyone. I invite you to get vaccinated because this is one of the ways that will allow Ukraine and each region to quickly overcome quarantine restrictions," said the Prime Minister, adding that Ukraine has concluded deals for a sufficient number of safe vaccines to immunize everyone this year.

At the end of the press conference, answering questions, Denys Shmyhal said that the Government continues the strategy of accruing pensions in non-cash form, but where there is no banking infrastructure, retirees will continue to receive money through Ukrposhta.

"The stages are as follows: large cities, cities with a population of over 100,000, in those settlements where the population density does not allow to have a bank branch or an ABM - there the pension will be delivered through Ukrposhta. We give retirees the right to use the card where it is convenient. Where there are no ABMs, retirees will receive the pension in cash," the Prime Minister stressed.
