The Cabinet
of Ministers of Ukraine stays committed to launch in 2018 new effective tools to
support science and encourages scientists to join these processes. Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
said during the first session of the National Council for Science and
Technology Development.
The
National Council is supposed to become an efficient platform for scientists to exchange
opinions, discuss ways to solve urgent problems in the sector, as well as to
ensure contribution of Ukrainian science to satisfy the demands of the economy.
According
to the Head of Government, the Cabinet of Ministers sets ambitious economic
goals and they are achievable on condition that we have a serious scientific
breakthrough that is quite real for Ukraine.
"We must
write a new chapter of the development of science and technology," the
Head of Government stressed and added the year of 2018 should be determined a
year for finding right mechanisms for supporting science and innovation. "We
will rely on the opinion of scientists, support the youth and talk about the
goals we should reach by investing the state resource in science."
The Head of
Government emphasized that the models of support and financing of science
should be discussed with scholars to ensure that the efficiency of distribution
of the resource meets the needs of both the state as the main investor and of the
scientists who should produce results.
"We pursue a single policy - building a strong, intellectual country," said Volodymyr Groysman.
