    posted 07 December 2017 12:21

The Government spares no effort to create a favorable environment for investors and business persons in the field of renewable energy that will allow Ukraine to increase the share of green energy in the final energy consumption of the country. This was stated by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ostap Semerak during the panel discussion on energy renewable issues within the framework of the 6th The Tiger Conference.

He drew attention to the fact the leading countries of the world are developing the said energy sector as one of the important mechanisms for counteracting climate change and, perhaps, the only clear alternative to extractive technologies.

The Minister stressed that Ukraine has an obligation to the European Energy Community to strengthen the development of renewable energy. In addition, the potential commitment aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is determined by the Paris Agreement, which Ukraine has ratified among the first states on the continent.
