Volodymyr Groysman: We need a thorough investigation into the causes of accident in Kalynivka

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman initiates a thorough investigation into the emergency in the town of Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region, in which at an ammunition depot where occurred a huge fire setting off a series of explosions.

"We need a deep investigation of the causes of the fire in Kalynivka," urged Volodymyr Groysman. According to him, the situation resembles incidents in Balaklia and other areas, and apparently the ammunition stockpiles weren’t destroyed by accident, adding the persons responsible would be punished.

He stressed that by the end of the day the situation in Kalynivka would improve. And as soon as the fire is localized, demining will begin. By now, a special headquarters has been set up aimed to carry out all technical activities, to repair damaged objects and assist the victims.

"I would like to thank the Chief of the General Staff, the military, the SFS, the National Guard for the fulfilled work. I want to commend efficient actions of local authorities and the public. I express gratitude to everyone who helped in such a difficult moment to the inhabitants of the affected territories. Now our task is to ensure the safety of citizens," the Head of Government added.
