“Our cooperation with the Alliance has become large-scaled in almost every direction over the past 3 years. We significantly increased a military-political dialogue; the ‘Ukraine-NATO’ commission regularly operates. We feel very helpful aid in matters related to the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the development of defence planning documents, from the Military Doctrine and on out to the Law of Ukraine ‘On National Security of Ukraine’, the development of which is in the final stage,” Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine stressed on September 18.
According to the head of Defence Ministry, the Alliance’s extremely useful and powerful effort is the Comprehensive Assistance Package, approved in 2016 at the Alliance’s meeting in Poland.
“The counselling that we receive from partner countries has a paramount importance. In total, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine employs 65 advisers who provide comprehensive assistance. Multinational training, which is regularly conducted with our partners and accelerates the acquisition of compatibility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the forces of NATO, is also important,” General Poltorak said.
