Volodymyr Groysman commissions to work out a possibility of allocation of funds for the improvement of the unified state electronic database for education issues
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman instructed the leadership of the Ministry
of Finance of Ukraine and
the Ministry of Education and
Science of Ukraine to address
the issue concerning allocation of funds from
the state budget for the
improvement of the unified state
electronic database for education issues, which proved
its effectiveness, but requires additional
attention in order to eliminate
all existing operational imperfections. This statement was issued by
the Prime Minister during a special meeting on the results
of the 2017 admission campaign.
«It can be said that there were
difficulties, but today all issues
are resolved and the system
proved its ability to objectively
examine the results. In fact
all applicants are enrolled (at higher educational institutions).
The system is ready, and
in the next
campaign we will not have
problems», Volodymyr Groysman asserted.
The Minister of
Education and Science of Ukraine
Lilia Hrynevych noted that problems
that arose were associated with the launch
of new software
services. But today, according to the signed
agreement, the software development institute is obliged
to completely eliminate any shortcomings
during the year, to develop
and improve the services that
universities need.It should be noted
that Lilia Hrynevych apologized to entrants and
to the staff
of admissions committees of higher
educational establishment
"for stressful working conditions."
The Head of
Government put an emphasis to
the fact that difficulties have been overcome,
and now no
interference with the system is
possible, because the software is
a state property. «The significant victory is that
this software is public and
private owners do not have
a bearing upon the management of this process.
It is
essential in terms of security.
It is very
important that the system, which
is being developed, by the
Ministry of Education and Science
will be open,
competitive, hence young people can
enter the university, which they believe will
enable them to become more
competitive and to acquire better
knowledge», Volodymyr Groysman underlined.
According to the Ministry of Education
and Science, currently there was an enrollment
of applicants who will be
studying at the expense
of state budget, almost 90% of the entrants
- enrolled, corresponding orders were issued, redistribution of university seats
among the preferential categories, which have a preponderant
right to receive education at the expense
of the State
budget of Ukraine is underway The line Ministry engages in
work aimed to address problematic
issues and will analyze the
pain points of the admission
campaign in particular regarding the practice of the "rural coefficient" and other innovations, in order to
prevent the said issues to
appear next year.
