According to figures, nominal wages in June 2017 increased by 37.9
percent compared to the corresponding period of 2016 and amounted to 7360 hryvnias.
The largest wage growth in June this year, as compared to the corresponding
period of 2016 year, was observed among employees engage in the following
economic actions:
- Manufacture of computers,
electronic and optical products - by 64.0% (12 136 UAH);
- Production of electronic
equipment – to the tune of 47.9% (UAH 7038);
- Production of motor vehicles,
trailers and two-wheel trailers and other vehicles - by 43.7% (UAH 7798);
- Production of carbonite
and refined petroleum products - by 39.7% (UAH 8802).
The tendency towards wages increase of public sector workers remains.
Thus, in June 2017 in comparison with the corresponding period of last year,
the nominal wages of education workers grew by 51.9% (UAH 7151), workers in the
field of creativity, art and entertainment increased to the tune of 48.4% (UAH 6159).
The wage hike occurs due to the raise of the minimum wage, an increase
of the payroll budget, the legalization of informal employment and eradication
of gray schemes of wages and etc.
