Decentralization has offered new opportunities to local authorities, reform should be continued, assures Volodymyr Groysman
The delegation of administrative and financial powers to local
authorities which was launched in 2014 has offered new opportunities for
regional development and should be continued. This statement was issued by
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in his communication with
journalists in Chernihiv.
He stressed that the success of the reform should not be called into
question although at the time it has undergone considerable criticism from the
populists.
«People can see positive results today. If a new kindergarten, a school,
a road, a sidewalk, a lighting system, a new rural health post, a new public
transport are being built in cities, territorial communities as well as in
villages, hence this is all a result of the decentralization process. Without
the decentralization none of this would have happened», highlighted the Prime
Minister.
