Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic
Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze met with the Norwegian
State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Marit Berger Røsland. During the
meeting the Vice Prime Minister highlighted the progress of reforms in Ukraine,
in particular, macroeconomic stabilization, the fight against corruption and implementation
of a judicial reform.
Ms. Marit Berger Røsland gave a positive assessment to the
above-mentioned achievements and assured Norway’s support for Ukraine in matters of
reforms in Ukraine. "We would be very happy to share our experience with the
EU as a country which is not a member of the European Union". A visit of
the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine to Norway due in late March will facilitate
that, as it is expected the launch of a mechanism of bilateral consultations on
European integration issues.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze
also thanked Norway for their support in the fight against Russian aggression. I
hope that together we can keep the pressure on the Russian Federation, underlined
the Vice Prime Minister.
It should be noted that Norway plays a central role in the NATO Trust
Fund for vocational training of officers and providing substantial humanitarian
assistance aimed to rebuild devastated areas in the eastern part of Ukraine and
to demine liberated territories.
The parties also raised an issue of strategic communications, countering
Russian propaganda and reassured of common views in matters of transatlantic
and European relations.
