The Eighth
International Economic Forum in Lviv under a motto Euro-2012 will be held in
October, organizers of the forum are the City Council, the State Regional
Administration and the Institute of the Regions of Europe (Austria). Its
program having as its purpose solving urgent problems of economic cooperation
in the context of our state's preparation to the football championship and
acquainting the guests with priority proposals of the Lviv region, included
thematic conferences, round tables, a land auction, a fair of investments and
the real estate, excursions to relevant objects, as well as signing agreements.
As Head of
the Foreign Economic Relations and Investments Department at the Lviv City
Council Serhiy Kiral told, for the first time foreign specialists from the
Institute of the Regions of Europe headed by Doctor Franz Schausberger have
been invited to preparation works. They made many proposals that rose
organization of a meeting, motto of which is European Partnership - Open
Opportunities, to the world level. In particular, a block of practical issues
of international economic integration was singled out related to Ukraine's WTO accession. An important
accent was made on new opportunities of accession to capital markets, on
arrangement of efficient cooperation between project initiators and potential
investors, between the state structures and the private business. A special
section concerns development of the transport infrastructure, regional and
local tourism, reestablishment of cultural heritage and the role of banks in
these processes.
Numerous
expositions will present strategic investment projects, programs of development
of territories, small and medium-sized businesses, innovation developments and
financial mechanisms of attracting capital investments. In the on-line regime
it will be possible to familiarize with urgent commercial offers with regard to
the real estate, the primary housing market and land plots. A fair of ideas
will be a special event that will take place within the framework of the
Investor Day.
Just now
about one hundred of foreign political figures, representatives of EU
managerial bodies and business circles gave their consent to participate in the
forum, Serhiy Kiral noted.
Leaders of state,
central executive power authorities and people's deputies of Ukraine will arrive to an official opening
ceremony. For instance, Vice Prime Minister on European Integration Hryhoriy
Nemyria and Polish Minister of Regional Development Elzbieta Bienkowska will be
co-chairmen of the round table dedicated to problems of transregional
cooperation. Among honorary reporters and participants will be President of the
Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Yavuz
Mildon, Vice President of the European Investment Bank Marta Gajecka and
Director of the UN Environment Program Regional Office for Europe Fritz
Schlingemann. Such an event will enable not only stirring up preparation of our
state to Euro-2012, but it will be an important step of Ukraine on its way to the European Union.
