The
governments of Ukraine and Japan have agreed on cooperation in the
area of elaborating of new energy and industrial technologies and introducing
of green investments. Respective documents have been signed in Kyiv today.
In
particular, Guidance for introduction of a green investment scheme between the
Government of Ukraine and Japan was inked. From Ukrainian side it
was signed by head of National Agency for Ecological Investments of Ukraine Ihor
Lupaltsov, from Japanese – Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Tadashi Idzava.
Besides, the
National Agency for
Ecological Investments of Ukraine and New
Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan have concluded a Cooperation Agreement. The document was
signed by head
of National Agency for
Ecological Investments of Ukraine Ihor Lupaltsov from Ukrainian side and chairman of New Energy and Industrial Technology
Development Organization Seiji Murata.
Under the
concluded documents Ukraine, in compliance with Kyoto Protocol,
gives to Japan 30 million units of emission quotas
for harmful substances, polluting the atmosphere.
In total Ukraine has a quota in 4.5 bn units. According to the calculations by 2012 Ukraine will have used for its own needs a
quota in 2.8 bn units while 450 mn
units, under the Government decision, will be sold to the other countries.
