On Thursday, September 18, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk took part in the discussion "Freedom during the information war," dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the broadcast of Ukrainian Service of Radio Svoboda.

"Empires collapsed, walls fell, dictators disappeared, but Radio Svoboda exists and will exist, as well as freedom", he said.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has reminded that the symbol of Radio Svoboda is a torch: "With this symbol of light, the symbol of fire and confidence we have gone through Maidan and are moving on."

According to him, it is very important to bear the truth in these turbulent and challenging times, which now Ukraine faces: "People want the word of truth. This is the truth that destroyed the Iron Curtain and destroyed the evil empire. This is the truth that builds democracy and makes Ukraine a European state."

He has recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin called Goebbels a talented person, who said that through the media he would turn any nation into a herd. Therefore, according to the PM, the truth is so important: "whatever the truth was, it is much stronger than any half-truths or silence. Only the truth is the most powerful weapon against the evil empire."

“I wish all of us to listen to Radio Svoboda and be free people thanks to the truth and thanks to Radio Svoboda”, said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
