Ukraine has sufficient amount of gas in its
storages and can stop to pump it up. The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko
announced during a press conference today.
“With general amount of 25.5 billion cubic
meters of natural gas in our gas storages we can wind up. 25.5 billion cubic meters are enough to pass the oncoming autumn-winter
period, to completely provide our country with the natural gas and also to
guarantee uninterrupted reliable export of Russian gas to the EU,” the Head of
Government stressed.
According
to Yulia Tymoshenko, the mentioned amount exceeds more than eightfold analogous
showings of the previous Government when in 2007 the amount of 3 billion cubic
meters were pumped into gas storages.
The Head of
Government emphasized this amount had been pumped not for one year: financial
resources that are to be received after its realization the following summer
season will be directed to the purchase of reserve gas amounts.
“We have
overcome the problem that couldn’t be overcome before – now Ukraine will have the national reserve of
natural gas,” the Prime Minister underlined.
