The
Ukrainian House in Kyiv has become the venue for presentation of art works of
winners of all-Ukrainian contest of children paintings titled Children for pure
energy, organized by the National Agency for Energy Resources (NAER).
The motto You love Ukraine, consume energy efficiently! found response in every nook of Ukraine. For two months the NAER has
received around two thousand of children’s works.
The event
was opened by the head of NAER Ihor Cherkashyn. “I hope vision of the problem by eyes of the
new generation will enable to have another look at the issue and find other
decisions for the whole Ukraine. I consider children’s ideas will become
a great example for adults and inspire them to introduce energy-saving and
energy-effective projects. This is an example how the society starts forming a
new energy consciousness and consciousness takes its roots from childhood,” Ihor Cherkashyn said in his
opening address.
Among the
respected guests of the events was Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador
of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine Olav Berstad.
The Ambassador stressed the Ukrainian children possess exceptional talents and
underlined significance of such events. “It is a great idea and we consider
importing it to Norway,” O.Berstad
admitted.

awarded the winners with the dilomas and incentive
prizes.
The contest
has attracted children of two groups aged 6-12 and 12-16. The art works were
distributed into four nominations: energy saving at school, energy saving at
home, use of renewable energy sources, effective use of energy resources and
clean environment. The paintings were estimated according to the following
criteria: actuality of the topic, its practical meaning, expediency of provided
recommendations and advice, originality and form, self-dependency level of
schoolchildren in performing the task and its quality.
The contest
aimed at forming a new energy-effective outlook in the society by means of
attracting of younger generation to the practical activity in effective use of
energy resources, search and support of talented children, creating conditions
for their further creativity, facilitating to professional self-determination
of youth, activation of creative activity of teachers.
